Incumbent Caballero defeating challenger Shor in 14th State Senate race

As of the latest update on the California Secretary of State’s website at 10:41 p.m. Tuesday night, Nov. 8, Democrat incumbent State Senator Anna Caballero was soundly defeating Republican challenger, businessman and Rabbi Amnon Shor in the race for the newly drawn 14th District.

That update shows 306 of the 706 precincts in the district reporting or 43.3%. 

Caballero had 44,283 votes or 57.3% of the vote to Shor’s 33,056 and 42.7%.

In a video posted on Assembly candidate Esmeralda Soria’s Facebook page from a joint Election Night event Caballero thanked her supporters saying, “the fact that so many people are here…that’s a testament to the people in this district of the commitment to make sure qualified Latinas get elected.”

The district includes Los Banos and all or portions of Merced, Madera, Fresno and Tulare counties. Caballero will serve a four-year term representing the new district.
