Four Fresno men arrested in recent armed robbery of Los Banos jewelry store

Suspects charged with multiple felonies including rape; three with history of arrests being held on bonds ranging from $50,000 to $500,000

On September 5, 2024, the Los Banos Police Department received a report of an armed robbery that occurred at a local jewelry store. Three black males entered the business with face coverings and armed with handguns; taking around $100,000 worth of jewelry. The suspects fled in a stolen vehicle, parked nearby, and were picked up by a fourth suspect driving a black Mercedes SUV.

Detectives determined the vehicle was registered to a Jules Lamont Hollis (53) of Fresno, CA, who is on Federal Probation. Prior to this robbery, Detectives learned the suspects committed a burglary in the city of Madera. Detectives obtained video surveillance where the suspects were observed without face coverings and accompanied by another male. The male was identified as Jules Lamont Hollis by his Federal probation officer. An arrest warrant was issued for Hollis.

On 09/15/2024 Hollis was placed into custody by Elk Grove Police Department at the direction of Detectives. Elk Grove Police Officers located Hollis with a firearm inside the black Mercedes SUV used after the Pearson’s Jewelers robbery. Detectives responded to Elk Grove, interviewed Hollis, and executed a search warrant on the vehicle along with two mobile devices. Detectives collected evidence further placing Hollis as a suspect in this investigation.

On 09/23/2024 Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Omar Damon Jones (41) of Fresno, CA after determining he was one of the masked suspects in this investigation. After multiple search warrants, Detectives were able to identify another masked suspect in this investigation: Moses Anthony Salas (22) of Fresno, CA. A search warrant was obtained for his apartment as well. Detectives were able to identify and arrest the fourth and last suspect in this investigation as Tyrone Royal Bush (34) also of Fresno, CA (on Federal Probation.)

According to the Merced County Sheriff’s Office, Hollis is being held in John Latoracca Correction Center in Merced, on a $300,000 bond. According to localcrimenews.com, he had previously been arrested in 2012 by Fresno PD for robbery and inflicting corporal injury on a spouse or cohabitant.

Also, according to the Merced Co. Sheriff’s Office, Hollis was arrested again on Oct. 10th for a felony warrant. He’s being charged with that plus seven other crimes including four felonies for first degree robbery, firearm use with a specific crime, assault with firearm on a person, felon / addict in possession of a firearm, plus, enhancements including two counts of special allegation – prior conviction – serious felony, three counts of prior conviction of a serious / violent felony and special allegation – use of a firearm.

According to localcrimenews.com, the six-foot, three-inch tall, 145-pound Jones was also arrested by Fresno PD in 2021 on a warrant or hold only and on Sept. 6, 2022, for rape of a victim incapable of consent and a warrants or hold only.

According to the Merced County Sheriff’s Office, he is also being held at the John Latoracca Correction Center on a $500,000 bond. Jones is being charged with five felonies of a parole violation, first degree robbery, assault with a firearm on a person, battery with serious bodily injury, rape of a victim unconscious of the nature of the act; plus, enhancements for prior conviction of a serious / violent felony, special allegation – prior conviction – serious felony and special allegation – use of a firearm.

According to the Merced County Sheriff’s Office, as of Oct. 1st, Salas is out of custody. According to localcrimenews.com, the five-foot, nine-inch tall, 150-pound suspect’s bail was set at $150,000.

According to the Merced County Sheriff’s Office, Bush is in custody. According to localcrimenews.com, the six-foot tall, 150-pound suspect was previously arrested three times in 2022, first by Fresno PD on May 28th for multiple firearms and ammunition charges including the manufacturing, importing or sale of a large-capacity magazine; then again on August 3rd by Fresno County Sheriff’s Department for robbery and battery with serious bodily injury and on October 3rd by Fresno PD for robbery.

Also, according to the Merced Co. Sheriff’s Office, Bush is being held on $50,000 bond and charged with six felonies including two counts of battery with serious bodily injury, first degree robbery, conspiracy to commit a crime, causing injury to an elderly or dependent adult and for an outstanding warrant.

At this time, the Los Banos Police Department has identified and arrested all four of the suspects in this investigation.
