LOS BANOS, CA (August 4th, 2025) — The Los Banos Police Department, in coordination with the Los Banos Police Officers Association, will host the city’s annual National Night Out celebration on Tuesday, August 5, at Henry Miller Plaza in downtown Los Banos. The event will run from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and is free to the public.
National Night Out is a nationwide initiative held on the first Tuesday of August in communities across the United States. The campaign is designed to promote police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie.
This year’s Los Banos event will include live music, food vendors, family activities, raffle prizes, and community booths. The Police Officers Association will operate a booth selling barbecue food, commemorative T-shirts, and challenge coins. Local public safety agencies are expected to participate, providing demonstrations and information about their services.
Henry Miller Plaza was first used as the event location in 2024, selected for its central location and increased accessibility. That event drew between 1,800 and 2,300 attendees, according to city officials.
Last year’s National Night Out in Los Banos featured more than 40 vendors, amusement rides donated by TEACO Amusements, a performance by country band Southbound 33, and raffle prizes including electronics and outdoor gear. Participating agencies included the Los Banos Police Department, Cal Fire, Merced County Sheriff’s Office, California Highway Patrol, and California State Parks.
Organizers say this year’s event will continue the tradition of offering a safe, welcoming environment where residents can connect with local law enforcement and public safety representatives.
