Los Banos, CA (November 12, 2025) — The National Weather Service (NWS) office in Hanford issued an updated wind advisory at 8:47 a.m. on Wednesday, warning residents across the Westside region to prepare for gusty conditions beginning early Thursday. The advisory is in effect from 1 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday.

According to the NWS, the advisory area includes Los Banos – Dos Palos, Coalinga – Avenal, the West Side of Fresno and Kings counties, West Side Mountains both north and south of Highway 198, and Buena Vista County. Forecasters report that south winds of 10 to 20 miles per hour with gusts reaching up to 35 miles per hour are expected during the advisory period.

The NWS cautions that gusty winds may blow around unsecured objects, with the potential to damage tree limbs and cause isolated power outages. Drivers, especially those operating high-profile vehicles, are urged to use extra caution as wind-related instability may occur.
