
Los Banos, CA (February 9, 2026) — Los Banos High School senior girls wrestler Angelina Borelli is gaining national attention as one of the top athletes in her weight class, marking a significant achievement for the local program. In the latest national girls high school wrestling rankings released in February 2026, Borelli was listed as the No. 3 wrestler in the country at 125 pounds, placing her among the elite female competitors nationwide.
Borelli, a 17-year-old senior at Los Banos High School, has built her wrestling career through both high school and national-level competition. According to her recruiting profile, she stands 5-foot-6 and competes around the 125-pound class, with experience on varsity and multiple seasons of national-level club wrestling. Her teams have earned conference, sectional, regional, and masters-level honors, and her club experience includes national events, All-American finishes, and state-level titles.
Borelli has been wrestling since the age of seven and says the sport has shaped her discipline, resilience, and mental toughness. According to a feature published by the Los Banos High School Paw Print, the school’s student newspaper, she set a goal of reaching the state championships and went on to place third in the state with a 38-2 record. The Paw Print also reported that Borelli competed in national tournaments over the summer and at one point finished the season ranked No. 13 in the nation.
As a senior, Borelli has focused on winning a state championship and earning a college wrestling scholarship. The Paw Print reported that she has been training extensively, communicating with college coaches, and visiting programs as part of the recruiting process. Her recruiting profile also notes her involvement in academics and community activities, including honor classes, AP coursework, and 4-H leadership roles.
Girls wrestling continues to grow rapidly across the country, and Borelli’s national ranking places Los Banos among the communities producing top-tier female talent in the sport. With a top-three national ranking and a strong state finish already on her résumé, the senior enters the remainder of her final high school season as one of the most accomplished girls wrestlers in school history.
