Firebaugh, CA (October 14, 2025) — On October 10, 2025, during halftime of a home game against Tranquility, Firebaugh High School unveiled a long-planned dedication of its football field as Josh Allen Field, in tribute to its notable alumnus, Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen.

The crowd watched as a video message from Allen was played, expressing gratitude to his hometown. His parents, Lavonne and Joel Allen, were on hand to accept the honor on his behalf.

During the ceremony, Josh Allen’s father, Joel Allen, said he attended Firebaugh High in the early 1980s and called the field dedication “a dream come true” and a “full-circle moment” for their family. His wife, Lavonne Allen, noted how meaningful it was to watch the hometown crowd chant “MVP” and cheer for their son during the celebration.

Firebaugh secured a 35–3 win over Tranquility in that same game — the school’s first contest under the new name.

In keeping with the celebrations, the school offered buffalo chicken wings (a nod to Allen’s NFL team, the Buffalo Bills) and held a raffle featuring signed memorabilia.
