Los Banos, CA (November 5, 2025) — A call came into the Los Banos Enterprise office on October 8 from Vienna Wen, who wanted to share her recent experience with a local doctor’s office. She emphasized that she was not advertising, but simply wanted to tell what she described as a “true story” about the care she received. We appreciate Ms. Wen taking the time to share her story and always welcome feedback like this from our community.
During the call, Ms. Wen explained that she and her husband moved to Los Banos in 2016 after selling their home in Foster City. “Foster City is a nice, beautiful city,” she said, adding that after moving, they often returned to the Bay Area for appointments at Stanford Hospital. “My husband just missed the Bay Area… we always drive back to Stanford,” she said.
Ms. Wen stated that her opinion of Los Banos healthcare has changed over time. “Lately I just think that they’re so nice, they’re so considerate to people and take good care of the seniors — everybody,” she said of the staff at Apex Medical Group. “The reception, they smile. The girls answer questions right away, not like before, serious.”
She described a recent incident involving nerve pain that had worsened after surgery. “I had surgery in Stanford for my feet, for my back,” she said. “My feet started burning, and my leg is in pain. Seven years, I’m suffering.” She said that on October 2, around 3:30 p.m., she called Apex Medical Group for help.
According to Ms. Wen, staff members responded immediately despite the late hour. She mentioned two employees by name: Sally, who “maybe [is] head of the front desk,” and Isa, who works in the referral office. “Sally said, ‘Don’t worry, we try your message,’” Wen recounted. “In one hour, after 4:00 or 5:00, the referral office — the lady name is Isa — she called me, said, ‘Wen, don’t worry, we work on you. We try to work on you tomorrow.’”
Ms. Wen said that the following morning, at 9:31 a.m., she received another call confirming her referral. “She called me, said, ‘Wen, everything done, you can go to Turlock today,’” Wen said. “Only one hour before closing, and then next morning everything was ready.”
Although the first clinic she visited in Turlock could not take her insurance, Wen said the Apex referral office continued to help her find another specialist. “They found one clinic specialist for my nerve hand,” she said. “Everything referral, my insurance, everything done.”
Wen also described how her doctor treated her during an appointment. “When I visit the doctor office, my feet cannot stay on the floor,” she said. “I put the pillow on my chair. The doctor came in and said, ‘No, no, no, stay that way, make you comfortable.’ He stand there, listen to my story.”
Throughout the call, Ms. Wen expressed repeated appreciation for the staff’s attitude and compassion. “They’re so nice,” she said. “They really take care of people.”
The Los Banos Enterprise thanks Ms. Wen for sharing her firsthand experience and encourages other residents to reach out with their own letters and calls. Community stories like this help highlight both challenges and positive moments in local care.
