Los Banos, CA (November 21, 2025) — Caltrans has issued a traffic advisory for several highway and ramp closures across Merced County from November 21 through November 29, and Los Banos-area drivers are being urged to plan for possible delays when traveling outside the city. While none of the scheduled closures are located within Los Banos city limits, several affect routes commonly used by local residents, including Interstate 5 and State Route 165.

According to Caltrans, Interstate 5 will see temporary rest area closures throughout the week as crews conduct maintenance work. Motorists traveling north or south of Los Banos should expect limited services at affected locations.

State Route 59 will have shoulder and bridge work during the advisory window, which may impact drivers heading toward Merced or Snelling. In addition, State Route 99 is scheduled for off-ramp closures at Bradbury Road, potentially affecting commuters traveling toward the Atwater and Merced areas.

The advisory also includes one-way traffic control on State Route 165 between the Mercy Springs Road overcrossing and Middle Road.

Caltrans reminds motorists to follow posted signs, expect construction crews in active work zones, and allow for extra travel time during the scheduled closure periods. All work is weather-dependent and subject to change.
