Merced County Elections still processing 25,000 uncounted ballots

More arriving through Tuesday; next update expected Friday

Mail-in and provisional ballots remain to be counted for Tuesday’s election in Merced County.

According to Merced County Registrar of Voters Darlene Ingersoll, “as of yesterday we had just over 25,000 which we’re processing. Those voters who voted by mail and postmarked by or on election day and received by Tuesday, Nov. 15.”

Asked if there will be an update later today since Friday is a holiday she said, “There will not be an update, today. We’re working holidays, weekends. We’re planning a full update by end of Friday and a larger one, hopefully by end of Monday.”

“We’re working really hard to get the ballots processed,” she added.

They have until December 8 to certify the election.
