Merced, CA (October 15, 2025) — A 41-year-old Merced man has been arrested in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash that killed a bicyclist Monday afternoon on West Main Street, according to the Merced Police Department.

Police said the collision occurred around 4:34 p.m. Monday, October 14, 2025, in the 600 block of West Main Street. When officers and emergency crews arrived, they found a 46-year-old woman suffering from major injuries after being struck while riding a bicycle. She was transported to a local hospital, where she later died.

Investigators determined that the woman had been riding westbound when she was hit by a vehicle that continued without stopping to provide aid. Surveillance footage from nearby cameras helped police identify the suspect vehicle.

On Tuesday morning, officers located the vehicle and attempted to contact the driver, identified as Nathaniel Louis Mack, 41, of Merced. Mack tried to flee on foot but was taken into custody a short time later, police said.

He was booked into the Merced County Jail on charges of felony hit-and-run and driving on a suspended license.

The victim’s name has not been released, pending notification of next of kin, according to authorities.

The Merced Police Department’s Traffic Unit continues to investigate the crash.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Traffic Officer Spencer Aguirre at (209) 388-7769 or [email protected].
