COMMUNITY PROCESS ON PUBLIC TRANSIT SERVICES BEGINS

Merced, CA (September 19, 2025) — Merced County Association of Governments (MCAG) is now gathering comments from the community regarding gaps in public transit service in Merced County. Residents are being asked to submit any unmet transit need in the region they feel should be provided by The Bus. This process is undertaken annually by MCAG as required by the Transportation Development Act (TDA) to ensure TDA funds are expended on needed transit services.
Residents can share their comments on local unmet transit needs utilizing any of the forums listed below.

  • Attend an in-person public hearing; several options are available as follows:
    o Tuesday, October 14th at 5:30pm at the Hilmar High School multipurpose room, 7807 Lander Ave. Hilmar, CA 95324
    o Thursday, October 16th at 3:00pm at the Merced County Administration Building, 3rd floor, 2222 M Street Merced, CA 95340
    o Monday, October 20th at 5:30pm at Del Hale Hall, 931 Center Ave. Dos Palos, CA 93620
    o Tuesday, October 28th at 5:30pm at Merced County Office of Education Newbold room, 632 W. 13th Street Merced, CA 95341
  • Attend a virtual public hearing on October 15th at 5:30pm or October 27th at 5:30pm

Comments will be collected through Friday, October 31st.

The Bus will provide free fixed-route bus service to individuals who are interested in attending an in-person public hearing. To ride for free, please inform the driver that you are attending the unmet transit needs public hearing. Paratransit bus service can be arranged for ADA-eligible passengers by calling (209) 384-3111; please schedule your service at least a week in advance.
