Los Banos Man Arrested After 40-Pound Meth Seizure

LOS BANOS, CA (August 6th 2025) — A Los Banos man is behind bars after a traffic stop in Monterey County led to the seizure of more than 40 pounds of methamphetamine and a search of his home in Los Banos.

On Thursday, July 31, a California Highway Patrol officer conducted a traffic stop on a Chevrolet Silverado traveling along U.S. Highway 101. During the stop, CHP K9 officer Rae alerted to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle. Officers located approximately 30 pounds of methamphetamine.

Based on the findings, officers obtained a search warrant for the driver’s residence in Los Banos. With the assistance of the Los Banos Police Department and CHP K9 officer Chip, authorities searched the home and found an additional 10 pounds of methamphetamine, bringing the total to about 40 pounds.

The suspect, identified as 37-year-old Alan Duran of Los Banos, was arrested and booked into the Monterey County Jail. He faces multiple felony charges, including possession of a controlled substance, transportation of a controlled substance, and transportation for sale. His bail was set at $100,000.

The California Highway Patrol is continuing its investigation.
