Los Banos, CA (November 24, 2025) — The City of Los Banos held a groundbreaking ceremony last Friday for the One Tree Permanent Supportive Housing Project, marking the official start of construction on the 58-unit development. City leaders, partner organizations, and community members attended the event, which highlighted the collaborative effort behind the project.

During the ceremony, the city recognized Anabasis LLC and developer Adam Conour, the Central California Alliance for Health, the California Encampment Resolution Fund, the Los Banos City Council, City staff, the Housing Division, and numerous community partners and residents who supported the project’s progress.

The One Tree project will include 58 units of supportive housing along with on-site services such as case management, healthcare coordination, behavioral health support, job assistance, and long-term resource connections. According to the information provided, the goal is to offer stable housing paired with essential services to help residents maintain long-term stability.

The overall timeline includes site preparation, building phases, and the rollout of supportive services once the development is ready for occupancy. Friday’s ceremony served as the kickoff to that process.

According to a March 2025 City of Los Banos press release, the first residents are expected to begin moving into the One Tree supportive housing units in Spring or Summer 2026, depending on construction progress. The project is funded through $11.8 million from the California Encampment Resolution Fund and $2.5 million from the Central California Alliance for Health, along with the previously approved development agreement between the city and Anabasis LLC. A subsequent November 2025 update noted that full occupancy could take 12 to 18 months from groundbreaking as construction phases and on-site services are completed.

City officials emphasized that the project represents a regional effort centered on collaboration, compassion, and long-term solutions to address homelessness in Los Banos.
