LOS BANOS, CA (August 29, 2025) – A head-on collision on State Route 165 near Henry Miller Road Thursday afternoon led to a full closure of the highway for several hours as emergency responders worked the scene and investigated the crash.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) confirmed the crash occurred at approximately 4:02 p.m. on August 28. CHP’s traffic incident log classified it as a head-on traffic collision, though no official details have been released regarding the number of people involved or the extent of injuries.
The roadway was fully closed in both directions following the incident, with Caltrans District 10 advising drivers to avoid the area. By Thursday evening, Caltrans announced that all lanes had reopened.
As of Friday morning, CHP had not released a statement about the cause of the crash or whether any arrests, injuries, or fatalities occurred. The investigation is ongoing.
