LOS BANOS, CA (October 28, 2025) — From haunted buses to trunk-or-treats, Los Banos is gearing up for a Halloween week packed with family fun and spooky surprises.

The City of Los Banos will host its annual Halloween Fest at the AG Sports Complex, featuring a haunted bus, pumpkin painting, carnival games, crafts, and a community trunk-or-treat. Local schools are also getting into the spirit, Lorena Falasco Elementary School will hold its Halloween Parade on Thursday, October 31, at 8:45 a.m., inviting families to cheer on students in costume as they circle the campus. The Los Banos Arts Council’s Día de los Muertos Celebration is scheduled for Saturday, November 1, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Ted Falasco Arts Center.

While Los Banos families celebrate close to home, Merced County is offering a full lineup of Halloween-themed activities just a short drive away. Among the highlights: the Marketplace at Merced Trunk or Treat on October 31, Halloween Night! in Downtown Merced, the Franciscan Post-Acute Trunk or Treat on October 30, and Operation Sweet Treat 2025 hosted by the Atwater Police Department. In Hilmar, the 3rd Annual Battle at the Farm Tractor Pulls at Baballe Farms (Oct 31–Nov 1) promises family-friendly excitement and Valley tradition. Film lovers can also join The Nightmare Before Christmas Sing-Along on November 2 at 301 W Main Street in Merced.

All of these community events, including several smaller gatherings like the Soft Opening Micro-Bakery at 324 Shafer Trail Ct. and additional Trunk-or-Treats across the Valley can be found through AllEvents.in, which maintains the full Central Valley Halloween calendar.

No matter where you celebrate, local officials urge residents to drive carefully, use reflective gear, and keep an eye out for trick-or-treaters on the move.

Halloween in the Valley is shaping up to be a safe, spirited celebration for all ages, with plenty of treats and maybe a few tricks along the way.
