Stockton, CA (November 29, 2025) — A mass shooting at a child’s birthday party on Saturday evening left at least four people dead and multiple others wounded in Stockton’s Central Valley region, according to official statements from the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office (SJCSO) and multiple local news outlets.

According to SJCSO, deputies were dispatched shortly before 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 29 to the 1900 block of Lucile Avenue, where a shooting had broken out during a birthday celebration held at a banquet hall next to aN ice cream shop. The first public alert from the Sheriff’s Office was issued around 7:10 p.m. urging residents to avoid the area due to an “active investigation.”

SJCSO confirmed that at least four people were killed, and multiple others were transported to area hospitals. Officials have not released the identities, ages, or conditions of the victims, and it remains unclear how many of those wounded were children. Law enforcement emphasized that the investigation remains active and ongoing.

As of Sunday morning, no arrests have been made, and no suspect descriptions or motive have been released. The Sheriff’s Office indicated that early evidence suggests the shooting was targeted but did not elaborate further.

Preliminary injury counts reported by news outlets state 10 wounded, in addition to the four confirmed fatalities with ages ranging from juveniles to adults. News coverage described a large emergency presence with multiple ambulances and police vehicles surrounding the banquet hall on Lucile Avenue.

Vice-Mayor Jason Lee of Stockton released a statement via Facebook calling the incident a “mass shooting at a child’s birthday party”, saying he was “devastated and angry” and called for both justice and community resources for the victims’ families.
