
Los Banos, CA (November 13, 2025)— The Los Banos Police Department announced that two people were arrested during a targeted retail theft operation aimed at curbing ongoing shoplifting and organized retail theft in the city. According to information released by the department, the operation focused on addressing repeated theft activity affecting local businesses.
Police reported the arrest of Tiffany Ornelas (DOB: 09/09/1988) on suspicion of violating PC 484(a), which involves the unlawful taking of property. Officers also arrested Brittany Gutierrez (DOB: 05/05/1994) on suspicion of violating PC 459.5, the California statute covering shoplifting.
During the operation, officers recovered stolen merchandise from local retailers. The department stated that these enforcement efforts are part of its ongoing commitment to supporting local businesses and maintaining community safety.
The Los Banos Police Department also expressed appreciation for the cooperation of community partners and local stores, noting that their vigilance played a key role in the success of the operation.
