
Los Banos, CA (November 13, 2025) — A traffic stop conducted by the Los Banos Police Department Gang Unit led to the arrest of a convicted felon found carrying a loaded firearm, according to information released by the department.
The Los Banos Police Department shared the following information in a statement posted to its official Facebook page:
“On November 12, 2025 at about 8:08pm, the Los Banos Police Department Gang Unit made a traffic enforcement stop in the 1300 block of E. Pacheco Blvd. The driver was identified as 39-year-old Jose Alvarez of Los Banos. Officers developed reasonable suspicion to believe Alvarez was armed. Officers searched Alvarez’ person, and the officers discovered a loaded, concealed firearm on his person. Alvarez is prohibited from possessing firearms and ammunition. Alvarez was arrested for multiple felony firearm violations. On November 13, 2025, the Gang Unit and the Investigations Division executed a residential search warrant related to this investigation. Officers found additional evidence linking Alvarez to the unlawfully possessed firearm. Alvarez was booked into the Los Banos Police Department Jail where he remains with a $350,000.00 bail.”
The department also expressed appreciation for the officers and investigators who worked the case.
