LOS BANOS, CA (October 20, 2025) — The Los Banos Tiger Trap Team is inviting young athletes to experience the sport of trap shooting during two upcoming Youth Community Days at the Los Banos Sportsmen’s Association, located at 13989 Mercey Springs Road. Events will be held Saturday, November 8, and Saturday, November 22, beginning at noon.
Trap shooting is a competitive shotgun sport in which participants aim at clay targets launched from a machine at varying angles. The sport emphasizes precision, focus, safety, and sportsmanship, qualities the Los Banos Tiger Trap Team (LBT TT) aims to instill in every new shooter.
The Youth Community Days are designed for new athletes only, providing a hands-on introduction to firearm safety and shooting fundamentals in a structured, supervised environment. Each participant will have access to firearms, ammunition, and safety equipment (eye and ear protection) provided on-site.
Participation costs $10 per person (cash only), and students must be accompanied by an adult. Space is limited and spots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. The team welcomes students from fourth grade through college to join.
The Los Banos Tiger Trap Team is a competitive program that promotes teamwork, responsibility, and safe firearm handling through structured coaching and competition. According to organizers, events like these community days are a gateway for students to explore the sport and develop lifelong skills in focus, patience, and respect for firearms.
