MERCED, Calif. – ‘The Bus’ will once again offer free shuttle service to the Merced County Fair this year.

Shuttle buses will be available starting at 5:00 p.m. from both the North Transit Hub on North M Street in Merced and the Merced Transpo in downtown Merced every night of the Fair, which takes place Wednesday, June 4 through Sunday, June 8. Free parking in downtown Merced is provided in the Bank of America lot across the street from the Transpo. Parking at the North Transit Hub is also free of charge.

Shuttles will operate between both locations and the front Fair gate approximately every 30 minutes, with the last shuttle departing the fairgrounds at 12:30 a.m.

All fairgoers are invited to visit The Bus’ table in Yosemite Hall inside the fairgrounds for information about routes, services, fun games, and a chance to win a prize, including a new bike!

“The ‘Free Fare to the Fair’ program has become an annual service that residents have come to rely upon,” said Serenity Anderson, Transit Director. “The Bus is proud to continue to be a part of the annual festivities and local culture that the Merced County Fair represents.”

For those traveling into the Merced area to catch the free shuttle, fixed-route service to the Transpo is available on the M1, M2, M3, M4, M5, M6, M7, UC, LB, P, T, and W1 routes. Additionally, the M7 route includes a stop at the rear gate of the fairgrounds. Specific route information and schedules can be found on The Bus’ website: https://www.mercedthebus.com/128/Bus-Routes-Schedules.
