During their only Los Banos City Council meeting of the month on Oct. 2, 2024, Mayor Paul Llanez read the notice that the City is now accepting applications from citizens 18 or older residing within the City limits who are interested in serving on the following Commissions and Committees:
Airport Advisory Commission – Three (3) Vacancies
Three (3) Two (2) Year Terms – Expiring December 31, 2026
Measure H Citizens’ Oversight Committee – Three {3) Vacancies
Three (3) Two (2) Year Terms – Expiring December 31, 2026
Measure P Committee – One {1) Vacancy
One (1) Three (3) Year Term – Expiring December 31, 2027
Parks & Recreation Commission – Three {3) Vacancies
Three (3) Two (2) Year Terms – Expiring December 31, 2026
Planning Commission – Three (3) Vacancies
One (1) At-Large Vacancy – Expiring December 31, 2026
One (1) Vacancy in District 1* – Expiring December 31, 2028
One (1) Vacancy in in District 4* – Expiring December 31, 2028

Tree Commission – Two (2) Vacancies
Two (2) Two (2) Year Terms – Expiring December 31, 2026
The various commissions meet once a month, twice a month, or quarterly and serve as advisory bodies to the City Council and Administrative Officials on such actions as they deem necessary, proper or advisable for the proper administration of City functions.
Commissioners receive no compensation for their time, although they may be requested to attend training workshops or seminars at City expense. If you are interested in volunteering to serve on · any of the City Commissions, are a resident of the City of Los Banos and at least eighteen (18) years of age, please contact the City Clerk’s Office at City Hall, 520 J Street, 827-2448 to request an application or access an application on the City’s website: www.losbanos.org. The deadline to submit an application to the City Clerk is Wednesday, November 27, 2024, before 5:00 p.m., and the appointments are tentatively scheduled for the City Council meeting of Wednesday, January 15, 2025.
