The Society of Our Lady of Mount Carmel is extending a warm invitation on the occasion of the 89th Anniversary of the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Celebration. The Celebration Mass, featuring classic Italian hymns, will be on Sunday, July 17, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Los Banos.

The Feast Day of Our Lady of Mount Carmel is July 16 when she appeared to Saint Simon Stock on July 16, 1251, after he returned to his native England. He had a strong desire to join the Carmelite hermits who lived on Mt. Carmel, but they were forced to migrate to Europe due to Christian persecutions. Our Lady of Mount Carmel gave St. Simon the gift of the Brown Scapular, a sign of salvation, a safeguard in danger and a pledge of Mary’s special protection.

New members will be invested with the Brown Scapular.  For more information on membership, contact Tracey at 826-0903.
