For Immediate Release: July 15, 2025
The Housing Authority of the County of Merced is pleased to announce an exciting new housing development specifically designed to meet the needs of the senior community in the City of Los Banos. Each home will feature a one-bedroom layout, a living room area, a fully equipped kitchen, and a full-size bathroom. These are stick-built homes, constructed using traditional building methods from the foundation to the roof. This ensures durability, long-term reliability, and the ability to withstand the test of time. The project spans two sites—Las Villas Homes at 840 D Street and El Mirador Homes at 860 F Street—and will deliver a total of eleven one-bedroom homes.
A key benefit of these homes is the sense of privacy and independence they offer—each unit stands alone with no shared walls, unlike apartment living. Each unit is self-contained, with its own entrance and living space, allowing seniors to maintain autonomy and dignity. At the same time, the development fosters a close-knit community with opportunities for social interaction and mutual support. These homes are also designed with safety and security in mind, featuring secure entryways, windows, and other safety measures that provide peace of mind to residents.
Designed for comfort and ease, each home includes a full-size kitchen, a spacious living area, and an accessible bathroom with full showers and grab bars to support seniors with mobility needs. Overall, this new development by the Housing Authority of the County of Merced in Los Banos, California, offers an excellent housing option for senior residents—providing private, secure, and long-term housing with all the essential amenities to support independent and comfortable living.
Over the coming months, Bell Advertising, Marketing & Public Relations will provide updates periodically—allowing the public and local media to follow each milestone through to the project’s completion and resident move-in.
