
Merced, CA (March 10th, 2026) — Merced County health inspectors conducted routine food facility inspections across Merced and surrounding communities throughout February 2026, with two Merced establishments receiving unsatisfactory ratings, according to inspection records from the Merced County Department of Public Health Environmental Health Division.
The two facilities that did not meet required health standards during their inspections were Sansei, located at 705 Merced Mall, and the Days Inn Yosemite Area Merced, located at 1215 R St. Sansei received an unsatisfactory rating during an inspection conducted on February 19, 2026. Days Inn Yosemite Area Merced received an unsatisfactory rating during an inspection on February 25, 2026. County inspection reports indicate violations were identified that required correction before the facilities could return to compliance with health regulations. Facilities that receive an unsatisfactory rating are typically required to address the violations and undergo a follow-up inspection.
As of the most recent update in the Merced County Environmental Health inspection database, the February inspections remain the latest publicly listed results for both Sansei and Days Inn Yosemite Area Merced. A follow-up inspection result had not been posted in the county’s online system at the time the records were reviewed.
Several other facilities inspected during the same reporting period received satisfactory ratings, meaning inspectors identified violations that required correction but the establishments were allowed to continue operating. Those facilities include Smash Bros Burger LLC at 1459 Martin Luther King Jr Way Suite 1 in Merced, The Snack Shack at 750 E. Bellevue Road in Atwater, Arco ampm at 3101 N. Highway 59 in Merced, Noah’s Vietnamese Fusion Cuisine at 1327 W. 18th St. in Merced, Wetzel’s Pretzels at 721 Merced Mall, Buy 2 Save at 1804 Bellevue Road in Atwater, and MUHSD El Capitan High School (Food & Pool) at 100 W. Farmland Ave. in Merced.
Most of the facilities inspected in February received good ratings, indicating inspectors found the establishments to be in compliance with health regulations at the time of inspection. Those businesses include Amigos Mini Mart, Dollar General #13358, Merced Elks Park, Salvation Army Dining Hall, US Foods CHEF’STORE, Carniceria 3 Hermanos, Off The Wall Smoke Shop, Shop N Save Market, Smiley’s Shell, El Porvenir Grocery, Italo American Lodge, New China Cafe, See’s Candies at the Merced Mall, Bi-Rite Liquors Merced, Carniceria Los Gordos Meat Market, Zesty Urban Farms Microgreens, Ostioneria Guadalajara, and Taqueria y Rosticeria Los Navarrete DBA Tacos El Jr, all located in Merced.
Additional facilities receiving good ratings outside the city include 7-Eleven Store #2368-39548 B and Five Stars Burger in Delhi, Hilmar-Stevinson Youth Baseball in Hilmar, Leo’s Deli Mart and Pure Roast Coffee in Dos Palos, and Jack in the Box #4351 in Livingston.
