Atwater, CA (February 24, 2026) — The Atwater Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that in a residential neighborhood.
According to a statement released on the department’s official Facebook page, officers were dispatched on February 23, 2026, at approximately 10:37 p.m. to reports of shots fired in the area of Determine Drive and Bellevue Road.
When officers arrived in the 2700 block of Determine Drive, they located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. Police reported that the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Atwater Police Department Detective Division is actively investigating the case. Authorities stated that no additional details are being released at this time.
