Sutter Health Expands Care Capacity in Los Banos with New Rural Health Clinic East

Los Banos, CA (February 17, 2026) — Sutter Health and community leaders will celebrate the grand opening of the Sutter Los Banos Rural Health Clinic East. The event marks a significant expansion of local health care access, particularly in primary care and behavioral health services.

The new 3,200-square-foot clinic will add four exam rooms and one treatment room, and bring 10 additional primary and specialty clinicians to the Los Banos community. Administrators with Sutter Health say the expanded facility is expected to support up to 1,000 more patient visits per month, complementing the services already offered at the existing Rural Health Clinic at 1253 West I Street, which is roughly a three-minute walk away.

Clinic leadership, invited local, state and federal officials, and community partners will be on hand for the ribbon cutting. Afterward, attendees will have the opportunity to tour the newly renovated interior — including updated exam areas, advanced medical technology and patient-friendly reception spaces.

Sutter Health describes the Los Banos East site as part of a broader effort to expand health care capacity across Northern California’s Central Valley, where demand for both primary medical care and behavioral health services has grown significantly. The new clinic is intended to strengthen continuity of care by keeping more services local and reducing the need for lengthy travel to larger markets for care — a longstanding challenge for rural communities across the region.

The Sutter system, a not-for-profit integrated health delivery network headquartered in Sacramento, operates dozens of hospitals and clinics across Northern and Central California and continues strategic investments in rural health access.
