Merced, CA (January 13, 2026) — One lane of southbound Highway 99 at Le Grand Road was closed Monday morning after an overturned semi-truck damaged a section of guardrail, according to the California Highway Patrol’s Merced Area office.
CHP Merced said the closure was put in place so crews could complete guardrail repairs in the area and urged drivers to slow down while workers were on scene.
Later, CHP Merced reported that all lanes of southbound Highway 99 at Le Grand Road reopened after the guardrail repairs were completed.
As of publication, CHP had not released additional verified details about what caused the semi to overturn or whether any injuries were reported.
