The California Highway Patrol (CHP) is investigating a fatal hit-and-run collision that occurred on December 24, 2023, at approximately 05:09 AM. The incident took place southbound on State Route 99, just north of Beckwith Road, Modesto.
A male adult was found deceased on the west shoulder of the road. The suspect vehicle, believed to be a black 2006-2009 Toyota Rav4, fled the scene. It likely has significant right front collision damage.
The CHP urges anyone with information to contact Officers Norseen or Mitchell at (209) 545-7440. Anonymous tips can be given to Crime Stoppers at (866) 602-7463. A similar image of the vehicle is available on the Modesto CHP’s Facebook and Instagram accounts.
