Long throughout the establishment of human civilization, churches have stood tall as a backbone for the local community that they serve. With Our Father’s House, their purpose is no different. With a mission to spread love through support and friendship, the church offers several wonderful and free programs to their local community here in Los Banos.

Sherma, a longstanding church member here in Los Banos stated, “Our church could be a model church for any church. We have really wonderful leaders and our programs are here to serve the community. You don’t even have to be part of our church. We just want to help!”

One of their programs is called Celebrate Recovery – a Christ centered, 12 step program designed specifically for women battling addiction of any kind.

“Addiction comes in many forms and is destructive to our well-being and the well-being of our community,” stated Senior Pastor, Bishop Doug  Young. “Whether the addiction be to drugs, alcohol, food, bad relationships, or whatever behavior binds someone to addictive behavior, they all put women in a vulnerable position. Our hope is that we get women far enough in recovery that they are able to sustain hardship without the use of aids that mask the problems rather than fix them.”

He went on to explain that the ultimate goal is for program attendees to gain the tools they need to work towards recovery saying, “My hope is that a men’s group will begin shortly, and we can recover the family unit, intact and functioning, in God’s perfect design.”

The most recent event ws their Men’s Commissioning graduation on October 30. This graduation is the end of Maximized Manhood.

“Maximized Manhood is a 10-month class that men take to teach them what exactly a godly man is supposed to be,” Pastor Doug explained.

Other programs, groups, and classes include, but are not limited to:

SERVE – The Serve Team goes out the second Saturday of each month to serve the community and meets at the church at 9:00 am. “Anyone is welcome to join us,” Pastor Doug shared.

TNT – A club for seniors 55 and up. TNT gets together every Wednesday 10:00 am – 12:00 pm. “We have just wonderful friendships. We pray for one another and visit with one another!” Sherma shared.

Pulse Youth – A youth group that meets every Wednesday at 6:30 pm.
